The car park is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week and is located underground on levels 1 and 2.

Maximum clearance height for the undercroft car park at the RAH is 2.2 metres

When travelling from the West, access to the car park is from Port Road via the slip lane on the left hand side.

If you are travelling from the East, there are two options. You can turn right at the North Terrace and George Street intersection before SAHMRI, or proceed over the North Terrace and West Terrace intersection before turning right at the first set of traffic lights.

If you are travelling from the South, there are also two options. You can turn left on Port Road and then right at the first set of traffic lights, or continue straight on West Terrace which will take you to the hospital entrance.

Patient and visitor parking is located underground on levels 1 and 2. The majority of public parking is available for up to 24 hours.

For casual hourly parking ticket holders, please pay for your parking using the ticket payment machines located in, or adjacent to, the carpark level lift lobbies on level 1 or level 2 prior to returning to your vehicle.

For those wanting short-term access only, a two-hour 'pay and display' zone is located near the Emergency Department on level 2. A ticket must be purchased from a machine in this area and displayed on your dashboard.

EV charging now available at the RAH

6 rapid electric vehicle聽charging bays and units have been added to the parking facilities at the RAH.聽One charging unit is located within an accessible parking bay.

The charging bays sit within the Park and Pay public parking area, located adjacent to the Emergency Department entrance, and聽have a two hour limit. Users can download the Chargefox app to use and pay for charging.聽

A number of short-term disabled parking spaces are available in the level 2 'pay and display' zone near the Emergency Department. Parking in these spaces is free for up to two hours and is available to all South Australian and interstate issued Disability Parking Permit holders. Overseas disability parking permits are not recognised in South Australia.

Longer-term disabled parking spaces are located across levels 1 and 2. Costs are as per car parking. Please display your Disability Parking Permit at all times.

The 'pay and display' ticket machines do not accept notes but do accept coins (other than 0.05c).

The Automatic Payment Stations accept notes ($50.00 and below) and coins (other than 0.05c).

The exit gates accept credit cards only (no cash at all). The only credit cards accepted are MasterCard and Visa (no AMEX). A credit card surcharge will apply to all credit card payments. The fees for the car park are listed below.

Weekly Parking

Inpatient relatives have the option to access a reduced price weekly parking ticket for $53, which is payable at the RAH Newsagency.

Applicants are required to provide the patient鈥檚 name, UR number and their details to the RAH Newsagency, at the time of purchase. Tickets are valid for strictly seven days and are able to be renewed at the RAH Newsagency prior to the expiry of the ticket.

The RAH Newsagency is open Monday to Friday 7:30am to 5:30pm and Saturdays 9:00am to 4:00pm

Patient drop-off/pick-up zones are located on level 2 in front of the Emergency Department and on level 3 in front of the main entrance. There are also drop off zones located on Level 2 outside the B/C lift lobby.

Drop-off/pick-up bays are also located on level 1 adjacent the E, F and G lift lobbies.

Please note all drop off zones have a strict time limit of 10 minutes only. Parking longer than this time limit may incur a fine.

When accessing the level 1 spaces, a ticket must be taken at the boom gate. The ticket will remain free for up to 30 minutes, after which time the above costs will apply and the ticket must be validated. A 10 minute time limit still applies to all patient drop-off/pick up zones regardless of their location.

A taxi rank is located in front of the main entry on level 3. A free taxi booking phone service is available at the enquiries desk in the main foyer.

There are number of bus stops located within close walking distance to the RAH.

Port Road

Stop 1 on Port Road (south side), which is approximately 630 metres to the west of the site. Buses servicing Stop 1 include 115, 117, 118, 141, 142, 144, 147, 150, 150B, 150P, 155, 157, 286, 286A, 287, 288, 288S, 110 and 112.

West Terrace

Stop X1 on West Terrace (west side) and Stop B1 West Terrace (east side), located approximately 200 metres to the south of the site. Buses servicing Stop X1 include 110, 112, 141, 142, 144, 147, 150, 150B, 150P, 155, 157, 157X, 500, 501, 502 115, 117, and 118.

Alterations have been made to public transport services in the lead up to the RAH鈥檚 opening on September 5. These changes include new bus stops and re-routing some existing services:

Stop Y1 will be introduced on North Terrace. Stop Y1 will be located east of Y2, just east of Newmarket Street.

The primary Hills bus route (864) will be re-routed to operate in a one directional loop from Currie Street to the hospital via Morphett Street and North Terrace.

The C1 (Elizabeth Interchange to City) and C2 (Greenwith to City) services will be re-routed to service the hospital from 3 September. These services will travel via their normal route along Grenfell/ Currie streets and then via Morphett Street and North Terrace, stopping opposite the hospital.

A new bus stop called X1 will be installed on Currie Street, adjacent Clarendon and Elizabeth streets, with all inbound O-Bahn services (except C1/C2) to terminate at this stop. Stop X1 will be operational from late October 2017.

The RAH is located approximately 900 metres west of the Adelaide Railway Station on North Terrace with a footpath connecting the two sites.

The Adelaide Railway Station is the central terminus of the Adelaide Metro railway system, which comprises 132 kilometres of railway track on the Seaford, Gawler, Outer Harbor, Belair, Grange and Tonsley Lines.

Rail passengers can either transfer to tram services using a tram stop located directly in front of the Railway Station or can walk to the hospital on the connecting footpath.

The Adelaide Metro tramline extends from the Adelaide Entertainment Centre on Port Road, Hindmarsh, via the city centre, through to Glenelg and the Botanic Gardens.

A tram stop is conveniently located on North Terrace adjacent the main entrance prior to the intersection of Port Road and West Terrace.

The RAH is located within the Free City Tram Zone that runs between the South Terrace tram stop and the Entertainment Centre. Travel within this zone is free.

All Adelaide Trams are wheelchair, scooter and assistance dog friendly.

More than 150 spaces for motor cycles are also available. Costs are as per parking.

Public bike racks are located in the outdoor plaza next to the SAHMRI building and undercover on level 2 just off the short term parking zone in front of the entrance to lifts C and B.

Bicycle parking is free.

Street parking is available in the surrounding streets and is metered Monday through to Saturday afternoon. Check signs for details.
